The short version
Furnace keeps your data on your PC. The launcher has no analytics and no telemetry. This website sets no cookies and runs no trackers. We hold only what is needed to run your subscription: your email address and payment records from our payment provider.
What the launcher stores on your PC
- Launcher settings, profile names, instance lists, and groups.
- Playtime totals and daily records, including the active and AFK split.
- Downloaded game files, mods, and logs, inside your Windows app data folder.
This all stays on your machine. If you turn on settings sync, a JSON snapshot is written to the folder you choose. You control where that goes.
Microsoft account data
When you sign in, Microsoft gives Furnace your Minecraft username and UUID so the launcher can show the right account and launch the game. These are stored locally with your launcher data. Your session token is stored in Windows Credential Manager, not in a file, and signing out deletes it.
What leaves your PC
Furnace makes network requests only for these jobs:
- Microsoft and Xbox Live, for sign-in and session renewal.
- Mojang, for game files and version information.
- Modrinth, when you search or install mods in the mod browser.
- Adoptium, when a Java runtime needs to be downloaded.
No request carries a user identifier we created, and nothing is sent to us. There are no crash reports and no usage statistics.
Subscription data
Payments are processed by [your payment provider]. They receive your payment details, and we receive your email address and the status of your subscription. We never see your full card number. Their handling of your payment data is covered by their own privacy policy.
This website
The site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts, and uses no analytics. Server logs at our hosting provider may record IP addresses and request times as part of normal operation and abuse prevention.
How long we keep things
Subscription records are kept while your subscription is active and for as long as tax law requires afterwards. Data on your PC stays there until you delete it or uninstall the launcher.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@example.com and we will handle the request, usually within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, this covers your GDPR rights. If you are in California, it covers your CCPA rights. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Furnace is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly hold data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of the page and note the change on the site.
